Hi everyone... if you're like me, relying on the mailing list to have
infos, without taking a look at the forum, well... here's a good news :
the RC6 should arrive on monday (seen on the help forum).... hope it
will be there ;-)

Re: Updates

Savo R
Hey guys,

The pppoe doesnt work, tried many times, Im in australia. I dont see why it
shouldnt work as ipcop works fine over here. after the install and then
configing the dialing out, when rebooting the machine will come up with
errors in the shell console (fatal module not found)? I said to you guys i
would of tested it before the release.

Best Regards
Savo.

i discovered the problem and described it here:
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1298310&group_id=132104&atid=725139

a patch is also attached.
can you test it please and report us?
would be great :)

well, since we did a jump from north to south pole between rc5 and rc6
it was not easy (ok it was impossible) to provide patches for testing
purposes. we tried to give the best in testing it ourselves.. in fact it
did work perfectly for me before, but apparently has been broken lately
by patches on ethconfig.
what should i say.. shit happens? :)

hope now it works.. for me it does.

Re: Updates

Savo R
In reply to this post by Peter Warasin
hello peter and people,

Heres the fix to get pppoe working, (this config is for 3 nic's in a pc) .
after the install go into the web gui and config the pppoe connection as
normal after that it will try to connect with no luck, now reboot the
machine, this will come with a error "fatal error module not found" (in the
shell console of the firewall). Now go back into the web gui and dissconnect
the pppoe connection this will stop the error message from annoying you in
the shell console. Now in the console go to var\efw\ethernet once in that
dir run "vi settings" now add this line "RED_DEV=eth2" (use the same case
for text). Now reboot the machine and it should connect.

Once you run the config for pppoe in the web gui you will have to do the
above step again.

p.s peter it's eth2, eth3 didnt work.

cheers people.

Re: Updates

Peter Warasin
hi

Savo R wrote:
> Heres the fix to get pppoe working, (this config is for 3 nic's in a pc)

ah perfect!

my description was for 4 nic's.
however, if you apply the patch
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/download.php?group_id=132104&atid=725139&file_id=149951&aid=1298310
on /home/httpd/cgi-bin/netwiz.cgi, the wizard (network configuration
item) writes down the correct configuration.

how to patch that file:

- download it from your efw:

scp root@efw:/home/httpd/cgi-bin/netwiz.cgi .

- apply the patch:

patch -p4 < efw-netwizard_pppoe.patch

- upload the patched file to your efw

scp netwiz.cgi root@efw:/home/httpd/cgi-bin/netwiz.cgi

- write down the configuration stepping through the netwizard (menu item
"network configuration")

that's all.

bye and thank you for testing!

peter

Re: Updates

Hello All,

Is anyone having problem's remoting into there desktop via RDC. I have setup
rules to port foward 3389 both UDP and TCP this was working accouple of days
ago now you cannot make a connection to the RDC of the server. In my network
internally everything works fine so it is the firewall. Port forwarding
works for other ports, like 25, 6881 etc... just RDC wont work? I will
probally rebuild the firewall over the weekend to fix this problem or go
back to IPCOP or ISA.

Best Regards
Savo Regulic.
